Keith Jarrett is a London-based writer, poet, performer, and academic of Jamaican heritage. He is the author of the pamphlet I Speak Home (Eyewear, 2015) and the full-length collection Selah (Burning Eye Books, 2017), and holds a PhD from Birkbeck, University of London, where his research focused on Caribbean Pentecostal culture in London.
A former UK Poetry Slam Champion, Jarrett also won the FLUPP International Poetry Slam in Rio de Janeiro in 2014. His play Safest Spot in Town was performed at the Old Vic and aired on BBC Four in 2017, and in 2019 his poem "From the Log Book" was projected onto St. Paul's Cathedral as part of the "Where Light Falls" installation. He has been named an LGBTQI+ Hero by Spread the Word and selected for the International Literary Showcase as one of ten outstanding writers in the UK.
He is currently finalising his debut novel to be published by Canongate and he will be reading from and discussing his new poetry collection, Hide Me Under the Blood and I Shall Be Satisfied.
