Module description

Neuropsychology concerns the understanding of the relationship between the brain and human behaviour. In this module we focus on developing detailed knowledge of clinical and experimental neuropsychology including current evidence, frameworks and research. You will gain a thorough understanding of theoretical aspects of neuropsychology, neuroanatomy, clinical syndromes, methods of neuropsychological assessment and concepts of neuropsychological rehabilitation.

Learning objectives

By the end of this module, you will be able to:

• describe key brain structures and their functions
• understand the various aetiologies of neuropsychological conditions
• identify clinical signs of major neuropsychological conditions
• evaluate the main methods used in clinical and experimental neuropsychology
• select appropriate neuropsychological tests for a given neuropsychological condition and know how to apply them in principle
• discuss the major approaches to neuropsychological rehabilitation.
