Module description

In this module we explore, in depth, cybersecurity governance frameworks, advanced threat management and the integration of AI in cybersecurity operations. You will learn to apply key governance frameworks, manage cyber threats and implement AI-driven security solutions. We will cover essential topics such as risk management, incident response, data protection and the responsible use of AI, preparing you for the complexities of modern applied cybersecurity.

Through practical labs and case studies you will develop the skills needed to design and manage robust cybersecurity strategies ensuring compliance with current regulation.

  • understand cybersecurity governance frameworks and standards, and their strategic application in diverse organisational contexts
  • evaluate and apply advanced risk management principles and methodologies
  • analyse and interpret the cyber threat landscape, utilising open source
  • critically assess the integration of AI and machine learning techniques in cybersecurity operations to enhance threat detection and response capabilities
  • formulate and test hypotheses related to cybersecurity threats and defences, employing analytical and problem-solving skills
  • synthesise knowledge from various cybersecurity domains to compose innovative and compliant cybersecurity policies
  • produce appropriate cybersecurity policies to address the specific circumstances of a particular organisation
  • identify and assess identity and access management (IAM) solutions, ensuring secure and efficient access control within an organisation.
