Module description
In this module, you will develop your understanding of the principles underpinning counselling practice and learn about the importance of the therapeutic alliance and what supports/hinders it. You will then be able to apply what you have learnt to some counselling practice examples.
Indicative syllabus
- A consideration of the counselling frame and what this means in practice: an exploration of boundaries
- An exploration of healing in the context of a therapeutic relationship and the importance of the therapeutic alliance
- Theoretical understanding about growth and transformation
- The application of relevant course learning to examples of clinical experience
- Developing reflective-thinking capacities
