    • Career action plan presentation (40%): a five-minute in-person presentation outlining your SMART career goals and action plan
    • Career investigation report (20%): a 750-word reflection based on an informational interview
    • Application assignment (20%): a tailored CV and cover letter or completed job application form
    • Interview assignment (20%): a 750-word written or 5-7-minute video reflection following a mock interview

Module description

Whether you are starting out, changing career or seeking to progress and develop in your current role, this module will help you to develop the practical skills needed to move forward with confidence. The module was designed in consultation with employers, entrepreneurs and industry professionals to ensure it reflects current recruitment practices and workplace expectations.

You will have the opportunity to engage with a professional who works in your chosen sector, gaining first-hand insight into industry expectations and career pathways. Learn how to translate the knowledge and skills gained during your studies into a clear and effective professional profile, whether you plan to build your career in the UK or abroad.

You will develop practical strategies to grow your professional network, approach potential mentors and access opportunities beyond the visible job market. With structured guidance and personalised feedback, you will build a compelling career narrative and produce tailored, high-quality application materials, so that you are ready to progress your career.
